Putting Valdez on the map

The Valdez Convention & Visitors Bureau annual visitors’ guide had not been fully updated in over a decade. Our goal was to create a Visitors’ Guide that encapsulates the year-round travel experiences Valdez has to offer and motivates prospective travelers to visit.

A thematic approach

Alaska visitors’ guides are vital for a community’s tourism marketing. To set Valdez apart, we created a design theme to spark a sense of curiosity in visitors. Toeing the line between larger-than-life scenery and hometown coastal feelings, we drew from the playful and educational aspects of wilderness field guides to create layouts that invite adventure, a sense of preparedness and interest for travelers.
