Building trust among shareholders, employees, and community

Shee Atiká approached Element to help visualize and reimagine their brand. As a Sitka-based urban Native corporation pursuant to the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA), Shee Atiká exists to bring value to shareholders through their work. Over the decades, their brand had become stagnant. We helped realign Shee Atiká with their brand mission and values, while creating pride amongst shareholders and improving public perception throughout Sitka.

Shee Atiká exists for a reason

Extensive research and analysis of the brand paved the way for improvements to Shee Atiká’s brand perception, employee job satisfaction, shareholder sentiment, and business win rate. Understanding the “why” behind the company is core to developing a meaningful brand. We identified opportunities to elevate the visual brand and crafted a new strategic communications plan to mark the beginning of a new era for Shee Atiká.

Keepers of the torch

In collaboration with Tlingit artist Jerrod Galanin, the Element team created a brand identity that honors the past, and paves the way for a bright future. The “torch” is created in traditional Tlingit Formline, representing Shee Atiká’s deep commitment to their people and culture.

The brand in action

By updating photography and designing/developing a fresh website, we were able to bring the new brand alive. The website brings together all of our favorite elements, from strategic content, to a versatile brand identity, to a best-in-class user experience.
